About Fort Bend County MUD 155

Fort Bend County MUD 155, the "District", is a municipal utility district created by an order of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), dated August 26, 2005, pursuant to the authority of Chapter 54, Texas Water Code, and Article XVI, Section 59 of the Texas Constitution. The creation of the District was confirmed at an election held within the District on November 8, 2005.

The rights, powers, privileges, authority, and functions of the District are established by the general laws of the State of Texas pertaining to municipal utility districts, including particularly Chapters 49 and 54, Texas Water Code, as amended. The District is subject to the continuing supervision of the TCEQ.

The District is empowered, among other things, to purchase, construct, operate, and maintain all works, improvements, facilities, and plants necessary for the supply of water; the collection, transportation, and treatment of wastewater; and the control and diversion of storm water. 36 The District also is authorized to construct, develop and maintain park and recreational facilities. In addition, the District is authorized to establish, operate and maintain a fire department, independently or with one or more other conservation and reclamation districts, and provide such facilities and services to the customers of the District.
